I caught up with battle rapper, painter, and recording artist Bender. We spoke over the phone about how he got into hip hop from an elementary school project, the psychology of battling, Bender possibly having a future battle against his mom, solo music efforts as well as projects with his group Flight Distance, hitting the cheap bins at record shops for hot samples, playing live gigs with Non-Phixion as well as Run The Jewels, the Trailer Park Boys samples on the first Flight Distance album, his fascination with squids, the oddest requests for paintings he has ever received, issues with Kathleen Wynne, the micro penis sharing controversy, and so much more!

I caught up with first ever KOTD champion, seasoned battle rapper, and writer Kid Twist. We spoke over the phone about the battle rap biopic "Bodied" that Twist is playing a big role in writing, how he first became exposed to battle rap, the stark differences in the 2005 battle scene compared to now, our mutual love of The IT Crowd, appreciating bars without necessarily getting the reference, his multitude of writing projects that are resulting in him stepping back from taking battles, two on two rap battles and having to battle your partner at a later date, the mutual connection we have through indie group The Danger Bees, how the hugely successful Norm Kelly antic came together, getting the Daylyt seal of approval for the Norm Kelly antic, thoughts on mumble rap from a rapper who battled Mr Mumbles, his hairstyle finally getting the recognition it deserves, and so much more!

We talked about her title defense this Friday against Yana Kunitskaya at Invicta FC 20, blocking out the fact she could leave the cage with a ten fight win streak Friday night, Invicta FC's tremendous growth over the years, the evolution of women's mma over the last decade, why the UFC has yet to sign her, a potential superfight with Invicta FC Featherweight champion Cris Cyborg, having her eye on winning the 125 lb title in Invicta FC, trying to get across her personality to the fans to bolster interest, people being overly sensitive to some things she posts on social media, US election fallout, her unique take on getting the 135 lb title wrapped around her waist, getting set up in a gym fight for the right to train at Lion's Den, her time training under Ken Shamrock, the money minded marquee matchmaking style nowadays, her 180 turn around on the idea of becoming a pro wrestling heel, blasting country music in the gym to get prepared for fights, and so much more!

We caught up over the phone about Chilla's experiences promoting his own battle league, mixtape projects coming up, working on a King Los feature for a future recording, connecting with Method Man after Method got hyped up for Chilla's bars against Daylyt, getting to cut tracks with artists he looks up to, how learning latin directed him to crafting his rap approach, how his scheme heavy bars became a progenitor style for many battlers today, why he still feels under appreciated in terms of his influence, what his prep process is like, Arsonal trying to beef with him, not being willing to engage in drama to promote phony battle rap feuds, being a fan of attitude era pro wrestling, and so much more!
