Pat Pytlik talks about winning the Unified MMA Welterweight title, visualizing everything that happened, observing fighter prep backstage, and more!
On this BTB episode (Bowks Talking Bouts #114), I welcomed on recently minted Unified MMA titlist Pat Pytlik right after his big win over Vyron Phillips.
We discussed how Pat gets to train with the best in multiple provinces, the quick adjustments Pat had to make in his last fight against Vyron Phillips, the pride associated with being surrounded by friends/ family after his last win and how he visualized everything that happened (6:15), fighting and coaching throughout the same event during the earlier part of his career (8:54), the benefits of studying the emotions/ mentalities of other fighters backstage as they warm up for their respective fights (10:57), Teddy Ash and Pat's photos with their respective Unified belts/ both are looking to make that UFC jump after their respective W's (13:57), only cutting 4 pounds to fight at Welterweight and 165lbs being Pat's division going forward (15:50), eye balling March as his next tentative fight date and wanting to be a true champion that defends their title (19:32), hating training to rap and being more on the rock side of things (21:02), and more!
